The new company, yet to be named, would combine the healthcare products and distribution businesses of MDS Ingram and Bell (an MDS subsidiary), and Allegiance Healthcare Canada, a subsidiary of Allegiance Corporation of McGaw Park, Illinois. The new company will be Canada's leading medical supply, specialty product marketing and distribution company. It is expected to have annual sales of approximately $300 million, or about 15 percent of the $2-billion market for medical and surgical supplies in Canada.
