Biosys has announced the successful development of Bluetooth technology which can be used to transmit wireless signals from man to machine. BlueLabs (formerly Frontec Teknik) has developed Bluetooth that allows biological signals to be transmitted without having to attach sensors to the body; instead, wireless technology is used to send information on functions such as breathing and pulse. The technology will be incorporated in Biosys' system Biodrow that measures human biological signals such as heart activity, movement and respiration using sensors built into a chair. BlueLabs has now developed a wireless link that transmits this information to a computer for further processing. CYBeR-CARE, Inc. has received FDA 510k market clearance for its Electronic HouseCall (EHC500) system, a patented Internet-based technology that remotely monitors individuals in their homes for health care purposes. The Electronic HouseCall system allows full two-way audio and video communication between a patient and a caregiver 24 hours per day via CYBeR-CARE's patented technology. The EHC500 will be available in mid 2001. Dynamic Healthcare Technologies, Inc. and Cytura Corporation are collaborating to develop an XML-based e-business platform for the delivery of laboratory, pathology and radiology results, reports and images to physicians and clinicians.
