Researchers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center have developed a prognostic model to determine the probability of recurrent prostate cancer after a prostatectomy. The preoperative nomogram in predicting 5-year freedom from prostate cancer recurrence was published in the August 1, 2002 issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology. The nomogram is based on the patient's PSA, the tumor clinical stage, and the biopsy Gleason sum.
