GE will acquire all of the issued and outstanding common stock of Triple G for a consideration of $3.30 (Cdn) per share, payable in cash. GE has also formed an alliance with Tecan US involving Tecan's front-end Genesis FE500 Workcell. The Genesis FE500 combines all pre-analytical functions including pre-sorting, centrifugation, volume check and clot detection, decapping, secondary tube labeling, aliquotting and destination sorting into analyzer racks from a variety of manufacturers. According to the results of the 2003 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study, the 100 most wired hospitals are providing Web-based patient education at the bedside, disease-specific self-assessments on-line and are linking clinical equipment to feed patient readings directly into the medical record. InnaPhase Corporation has acquired Beckman Coulter's Laboratory Automation Operations (LAO). Details of the cash transaction were not disclosed. The Patient Safety Institute (PSI) and Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings are collaborating to provide clinical laboratory results to physicians via PSI's point-of-care information system (PSI System). Initially, the alliance will focus on providing this capability to physicians in Delaware as part of the first statewide clinical information sharing utility. SAO Data Integration Strategies, LLC, subsidiary of NetImpact Holdings, Inc. has integrated its international laboratory test ordering and reporting system (ILTORS) into NetImpact's NetCare 7.0. Available in three languages, English, French and Spanish, medical facilities worldwide are expected to use ILTORS to escalate the medical community's efforts in testing for and tracking suspected diseases.
